MEDEA Advisory Committee
The MEDEA Advisory Committee is an (external) consultative organ, set up in order to provide external advice to the project partners and support the dissemination of the project’s results to local communities and authorities. Furthermore, across all three participating countries (Greece, Cyprus, and Israel), the Advisory Committee will also support and facilitate the introduction of MEDEA project results in the form of local strategies regarding public protection from desert dust storm events within the framework of climate change adaptation. The Advisory Committee includes representatives of regional authorities on air pollution and climate change, regional authorities on health and education as well as representatives of regional social stakeholders (e.g. patient associations and parent associations). The list of Advisory Committee members will be defined during the first year but it may be updated throughout the MEDEA project duration. In total, at least thirty (30) representatives of organisations are expected to be part of the Advisory Committee and annual meetings are expected to take place adjacent to the annual meetings of the MEDEA project.

Other projects and initiatives
Towards establishing a wide network of expert collaborators in the fields of climate change, public administration and human health, the MEDEA project is in contact with expert scientists and officials from several related European organisations. Interested organisations have nominated expert representatives to join the MEDEA project focus group. In addition expert scientists have also the option to join the focus group irrespective of organisation affiliation (under personal status). The participants of the focus group benefit from a web-based forum of bidirectional interaction between the MEDEA project and themselves that will allow them to keep informed on project actions and results and will also allow them to provide valuable feedback to MEDEA researchers. Related European organisations include the European Environmental Agency, the Copernicus Climate Change, the Joint Research Center and the Union for the Mediterranean. The first members of the MEDEA project focus group are:
